For the prevention and treatment of deforming scars and use on open wounds and lysed skin. Stratamed is a self-stabilizing silicone gel, non-sticky and transparent, for the prevention and treatment of deforming scars in the form of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Stratamed can be applied to any fresh surgical incision or excision, open wound and skin surfaces that have undergone discontinuity, chemical peeling, abrasions and superficial burns from radiotherapy. Stratamed is suitable for exposed areas such as the face and neck but also for areas such as joints and areas covered by scalp without the need for hair removal. Stratamed can be used with or without a protective dressing. When used properly, Stratamed dries quickly creating a thin silicone sheet, a protective semipermeable membrane. It regulates wound moisture and gas exchange and protects the affected skin or open wounds from chemical and microbial infiltration, allowing the normalization of the collagen production process in the scar and ultimately normal healing. It causes regression and smoothing of scars, relieves itching and discomfort, and reduces redness and skin discoloration caused by scars and skin lesions. Stratamed was developed for use on every type of scar including those caused by: -Any surgical procedure. -Injuries. -Burns. -Bites. -Skin rashes and irritations. -Laser treatments (including tattoo removal). -Chemical peeling. -Dermabrasion. -Acne and other skin diseases. Indicated use: Stratamed can be applied to open wounds and areas where the skin has undergone lysis of continuity. Stratamed is used for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids. Stratamed can be used in combination with invasive scar reduction methods to improve the aesthetic outcome, such as surgical excision and convergence, intralesional steroid injection, and the use of pressure dressings. Stratamed is suitable for children or people with sensitive skin. Directions for use: Make sure the affected skin or wound is clean. Remove as much exudate or fluid from the wound as possible before applying Stratamed. On skin that is injured or has suffered a break in continuity and does not require a dressing: Gently apply a very thin layer of Stratamed to the affected area and repeat the movements until dry. Stratamed should be applied once a day, or twice a day to exposed areas, or as recommended by your doctor. Once dry, Stratamed can be covered with sunscreen, makeup, pressure bandages or casts. When properly applied to exposed areas, Stratamed should dry within a few minutes. If it remains damp after a few minutes, you may have applied too much. Remove excess with gauze or a clean tissue and gently pat the rest until dry. On damaged skin or wounds requiring dressing: Apply a very thin layer of Stratamed to the affected area and cover with a dressing. Stratamed does not need to be dry before dressing. Stratamed should be reapplied at each dressing change or as the wound heals or as recommended by your doctor. For best results, Stratamed should remain in contact with the skin for 24 hours.
