MACUSHIELD GOLD 90CAPSULES MacuShield Gold is a food supplement containing the three macular carotenoids, Meso-Zeaxanthin, Lutein and Zeaxanthin which constitute the macular pigment, as well as vitamins C and E, Zinc and Copper. MacuShield Gold is a 3-capsule per day product: 1x MacuShield original capsule and 2x Gold capsules. The MacuShield capsule, in addition to the Gold capsules, provides a fortified MacuShield formulation to help maintain vision. All the main ingredients are antioxidants, which neutralise free radicals. Free radicals are abundant at the back of the eye and are one of the causes of ageing, and which are also greatly increased by smoking, obesity and ‘blue’ light exposure. The three macular carotenoids also help to protect the eye, in addition to neutralising these free radicals, by absorbing this damaging ‘blue’ light (which is present in sunlight, car headlights and computer screens amongst other sources). This blue light exposure reduces our clarity of our central, detailed, precision vision.
