Complan Shake is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Complan Shake is a high energy nutritional supplement based on skimmed milk powder, carbohydrate and fat, with added vitamins and minerals for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition or due to other special reasons. Complan Shake can be used to supplement the diet of patients unable to meet their nutritional requirements from regular dietary intake. The need for nutritional support may be also due to other special reasons such as: - Periods of intense stress, e.g. excessive workload - Recovery from illness, e.g. viral infection - Physical development of children - Pregnancy and breastfeeding - Aging Complan Shake can be made up with whole milk or added to foods as a fortifier. Available in packs of 4 x 57g sachets in four flavours: vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and original. GMS approved. Contraindications: Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia or cow’s milk intolerance. Precautions: Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet. Use with caution in children aged 3-6 years. Directions for Use: What you will need: 200ml (7fl oz pint) of whole milk or water; a whisk or fork; a glass or mug or just a shaker. 1. Pour 50ml whole milk or water into a large glass or mug and add one sachet of 57g powder 2. Mix into a smooth cream with a whisk or fork 3. Top up with the remaining 150ml stirring all the time Storage: Store in a dry, cool place (5-25°C). Once reconstituted, use within 2 hours, or store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours.
