To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original creation of the Cerruti 1881 juice by Nino Cerruti, the House has entrusted Symrise with a new interpretation of the iconic juice. Perfumers Alienor Massenet and Maurice Roucel have come up with a resolutely modern version that's as intense as ever, with an olfactory signature updated by high-quality raw materials. A modern woody aromatic fougère that opens with a luminous accord of green basil and Madagascar ginger. Sweetly floral, lavender and, for the first time, a geranium also from the Indian Ocean island reveal all their sensuality at the heart of the fragrance. In the base notes, patchouli and ambery woody accords enhance the vivacity of the top notes and give the fragrance a long-lasting finish. The result is a highly distinctive, modernised fragrance based on the structure of the original creation. "Starting with the base notes, the dated animalic facets have been replaced by vibrant amber woods for contemplative sensuality. High-quality patchouli and exclusive basil grand vert were used to further enhance the formula's noble ingredients. Classic ylang-ylang has been rebalanced and worked with precious Madagascan geranium to bring out a more modern fougère aspect. A luminous hint of juicy pineapple and natural spices fused together give the fragrance an immediate, natural hook."
