How to choose the right oxidizer for Joico Lumishine paint?
The selection of an oxidant depends on several factors. First of all, it depends on the condition of the hair, its current color, as well as whether we have gray hair and how many there are. Below are some tips worth reading:
Oxidant 3% - use if you want to slightly darken or lighten your hair (up to 1 tone) or get a color similar to the initial one. Oxidant with a concentration of 3% is the least invasive. You can use it if you have little gray hair.
Oxidant 6% - this is the most commonly used concentration for standard coloring. Use if you want to lighten your hair by 1-2 tones, visibly change its color or if you have a lot of gray hair. The oxidant with a concentration of 6% is suitable for brown hair as well as for shades of blonde.
Oxidant 9% - use if you want to lighten by 2-3 tones or when you want to use a lightening dye, especially with a number above 10. This oxidant is used when no decolorization treatment has been performed before, so in case of very dark or resistant to lightening hair, the effect may not be satisfactory. If you have dark roots and want to dye them blonde, you can use a 9% oxidant and dye the rest of your hair with a lower concentration of oxidant.
Oxidant 12% - use if you want to lighten your hair by 5-6 tones, when you have dark roots and want to dye them light blonde, or if your hair is extremely resistant to lightening. Oxidant 12% is the most invasive oxidant of all available concentrations, if used too often it can damage the hair, so always make sure whether its use is necessary.
